Rev ‘Oto V Faiva

Team Leader West Epping Uniting Church & Carlingford Uniting Church
E-mail Rev ‘Oto V Faiva

Hello! Malo e lelei (In Tongan). My name is ‘Oto V Faiva (Rev), and I am privileged to serve as the Ministry Team Leader at Carlingford-West Epping Uniting Church. My wife’s name is Bella, and we are blessed with four children (young adults) – three daughters and a son.

I have a deep love for Jesus and am passionate about sharing the gospel. I believe that God has come near to us, offering the hope and assurance that we can live in joy and peace, regardless of the circumstances we face. Jesus is truly a gift for life!

When I have time, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, baking, and doing a bit of odd jobs (e.g. carpentry, tiling etc).

I especially love meeting people, whether it’s over a cup of coffee or a shared meal.

I look forward to meeting you and connecting in fellowship!”

Malo (thanks)

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I am blessed with a loving family—married with three grown children and six grandchildren. I bring warmth, energy, and a deep passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. I delight in sharing how God’s grace and love have shaped my life and continue to guide my ministry.

Looking ahead, I am passionate about nurturing and raising up the next generation of leaders, equipping them to lead the church forward with faith and courage. I warmly invite you to journey with us as we discover God’s love and purpose together.

Pastor Jeane Finnegan

Church & Family Ministry Worker
E-mail Pastor Jeane Finnegan

Jeane is passionate about loving God and loving people.
Following a ten-year career in Organisational Change Management, she responded to God’s
call to ministry by completing a Bachelor of Theology. Since then, Jeane has ministered in
diverse settings—hospitals, aged-care facilities, workplaces, and churches—bringing
compassion, hope, and the message of Jesus wherever she goes.

Her greatest passion lies in equipping children, youth, and families to become disciples who
make disciples. She loves inspiring the next generation to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and
live out their faith in everyday life.

When she’s not in ministry, Jeane finds joy in nature walks or cycling, dancing, cooking,
reading, attending the theatre, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Chao Zhou

E-mail Chao Zhou
Hi, I’m Chao. I was born in China and grew up in Adelaide. I spent over a decade working as a lawyer, but over time God nudged me in a different direction.

A lot of my faith was shaped by being around people doing it tough, and that’s still where I feel most at home—walking alongside others and helping build
safe spaces where people are cared for, treated fairly and know that they belong.

I’m passionate about community, justice, and encouraging every person as they journey through life.

From time to time, I do enjoy a good fantasy story—Tolkien, Pratchett, Star Wars (yes, let’s debate this)—and I still think life could do with a few more musical moments.

If you ever want a chat or someone to listen, I’m always around.

Moling Chun

Student Minister
E-mail Moling Chun

Hi everyone. My name is Mo Ling Chun (Preferred: Moling Chun). I am in the third formation year of the UTC Ministry Candidate for the Minister of Deacon (MoD).

I started my field education placement at Carlingford-West Epping Uniting Church on 1st March 2026. It is my privilege to witness the Inauguration Service at West Epping Uniting Church – two uniting churches joined into one entity named: CWEUC.

I have a background in nursing, chaplaincy, and pastoral care ministry, and I have many interests. I love reading, listening, journaling, and chatting with my family (and best friends) about everything. I always love listening to music or inspiring songs when I am doing my assignments or walking by myself. I also enjoy bushwalking and strolling along the waterfront with my family. My daughter (Charity) has loved listening to my bedtime stories since she was a toddler (and now she is a young adult, she still loves to listen).

I also love capturing nature with my iPhone camera and walking along the path in Oval Park at sunset whenever possible.

I am interested in playing table tennis and aquatic fitness as my leisure/ group

exercise activities. I am used to having an annual family retreat or camping. I am passionate about conversing with people and, within my capacity, listening to them. I have worked in Aged Care Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Services at Uniting for over 10 years, as well as in a hotline counselling/Chaplaincy service.

Emma Butler

Office Administrator

I have been serving as Office Administrator at West Epping for the past three years, working two days a week to support the life and ministry of our Church.

My husband and I have five children, and our family first became part of the West Epping congregation over 12 years ago when I began bringing my children to Mainly Music. I love being part of this community and enjoy contributing in both practical administrative tasks and
creative ways that help support the ministry of the Church.
