Campers [re]fuel at Merroo

From the 16th to the 18th April 36 young people from West Epping Uniting Church went to [re]fuel at Merroo.

The weekend’s activities centred on the theme ‘It’s all about you’ in relationship with Jesus and  included worships, group discussions and talks, canoeing, great games, fabulous meals and awesome music lead by the OneHeart band.

Campers came from different age groups and cultures but this did not stop them from developing stronger relationships with each other and Jesus, and [re]fueling through hearing God’s word and participating in the many fun activities.  See what just some of the campers had to say …

“What a wonderful time I had! The time flew, three days are too short!  Sharing life-stories has made us closer.  I can't wait for the next Camp!”  LeeDong.

"It was action packed, exciting and full of fun and surprises.  Highlights include capsizing canoes, spitting alpacas, getting to know church friends better, staying up late, easy to relate to talks!"  Chris.

“Camp was absolutely fantastic, it was a great chance for me to connect with the OneHeart community. I met heaps of new people and had an awesome time hearing from God's word with them. The best part of the camp by far was the discussion groups, it was really good to share ideas with each other and hear about what our amazing God is saying to us through the bible. Though I have to say that the canoeing did come pretty close to being the best thing.” Laura.

"I enjoyed worshipping and socialising in a multicultural environment.  This gave me an opportunity to grow closer to other members of OneHeart.  The canoeing was also a highlight of the weekend."  Stuart.

“Camp was great!  I came home tired and dirty.  I really enjoyed hanging out with my OurSpace friends.” Michael.

“Camp was really valuable to me in terms of exploring my faith as well as enjoying the company of the younger portion of our church. We were constantly busy, whether it was group discussions, soccer games, canoeing, feeding the alpacas or praying together. It was a really well organised camp ,there was never a dull moment.  Although we were having fun I think we all got to learn a lot more about ourselves, each other and God.”  Jacqueline.

"I enjoyed the awesome music.  Great playing from our OneHeart band."  Thomas.

"How awesome was it hanging out with such a top bunch of young people."  Rod (leader).

This camp was a wonderful opportunity for our young people to gather together and [re]fuel on God's word.  It would not have been possible without the West Epping congregation who supported the camp, through leadership, attendance, prayer and financial donations.  THANK YOU!
